Discrimination

Race, Color, Religious, Gender, Sexual Orientation and National Origin Discrimination
Both Federal law by a statute known as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the New York State Law under the Human Rights Law, prohibit an employer from discriminating against an individual in any way (including compensation, terms, conditions or privileges) because of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation or national origin.
Pregnancy Discrimination
The Pregnancy Discrimination Act is an amendment to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Discrimination on the basis of pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions constitutes unlawful sex discrimination under Title VII. Women affected by pregnancy or related conditions must be treated in the same manner as other applicants or employees with similar abilities or limitations.
Disability Discrimination
The Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in employment, State and local government, public accommodations, commercial facilities, transportation, and telecommunications.
Age Discrimination
The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 prohibits an employer from discriminating against an individual in any way (including compensation, terms, conditions or privileges) because of their age.
Veteran Discrimination
The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA) seeks to ensure that those who serve their country can retain their civilian employment and benefits, and can seek employment free from discrimination because of their service. USERRA provides protection for disabled veterans, requiring employers to make reasonable efforts to accommodate the disability.
